Increase your writing efficiency by integrating Antidote’s tools into Microsoft Word. You will be able to open the dictionaries and guides directly from your word processing software, and most importantly, any changes you make in the corrector will be applied automatically in the original document. This integration will make revision much easier!

The Connector: the Key to Integration

For Antidote and Word to work together, you need to add a connector. Antidote provides a utility software called Connectix to manage your connectors.

Connectix runs when you install Antidote 11 and is offered the first time you use Antidote Web. So it’s possible that you already have the connector for Word. If so, read our article on three ways to run Antidote in Word instead.

Otherwise, here’s how to add it with Antidote Web and Antidote 11.

Adding the Connector with Antidote Web

  1. Click the connector icon (shaped like an electrical plug) in the vertical panel on the left-hand side (1). The window that pops up next gives you two options for downloading Connectix (2). Choose the one corresponding to the operating system of your computer.

  1. Double-click the downloaded file, which is located in your Downloads folder or wherever you chose to save it.

This creates a Connectix folder in the desktop (on Windows) or a disk image (on a Mac). Open this item and launch the Connectix utility.

  2. Select Microsoft Word from the list (along with other software that interests you), and click Add.

Adding the Connector with Antidote 11

  1. From the Help menu, select Integration of Antidote with your software (Connectix).

    • On Windows
    • On a Mac
  2. Select Microsoft Word from the list (along with other software that interests you), and click Add.

That’s all! Antidote will be integrated into Word the next time you open it.

What About Other Software?

As you may have noticed, Connectix lists all the connectors available for the software installed on your computer. You can add them at the same time.

However, not all software works the same ... and Antidote connectors depend on it. This is why some connectors require additional operations. Connectix then provides you with step-by-step instructions to complete the integration.

Now that the integration is complete, find out how to run Antidote in Word to get the most out of it!
